1002.95 Teacher Education and Compensation Helps (TEACH) Scholarship Program.
(1) The department may contract for the administration of the Teacher Education and Compensation Helps (TEACH) Scholarship Program, which provides educational scholarships to caregivers and administrators of early childhood programs, 1family child care homes, and large family child care homes. The goal of the program is to increase the education and training for caregivers, increase the compensation for child caregivers who complete the program requirements, and reduce the rate of participant turnover in the field of early childhood education.
(2) Subject to an appropriation, the TEACH Scholarship Program administrator shall also establish and administer the Center for Early Childhood Professional Recognition to ensure alignment of training statewide, including, but not limited to, a system of training approval, a system of trainer approval, and implementation of competency-based assessments aligned to the early learning professional development standards and career pathways under s. 1002.995.
(3) The State Board of Education shall adopt rules as necessary to administer this section.
